This action of moving one’s thumb back and forth across the stone, stimulates the hand nerves that reduce stress. It is a natural aid for self-calming, the simplest form of natural medicine.

The use of worry stones has many origins. Its use has been reported in ancient Tibet, Greece, Ireland, and with many tribes in the Americas. Worry stones made by sea water were generally used by Ancient Greeks. Native American tribes would pass their worry stones on to younger generations, creating a sense of connection with their ancestors.
